A press release issued by Network Rail suggesting that Huncoat box would be closed at the same time as the Colne branch was refettled proved to be premature, as the box had - albeit a short one - a reprieve. It was slated for closure in November 2014, and it was recorded Out-of-Use (OOU) at 23:35hrs on Saturday 22 November 2014. Here are the results of a survey conducted on Sunday 23 March 2014.
